Providing adequate remedies to toxic tort victims.: An article from: Trial Overview

This digital document is an article from Trial, published by Association of Trial Lawyers of America on April 1, 1997. The length of the article is 3450 words. The page length shown above is based on a typical 300-word page. The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Digital Locker immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser.

From the supplier: The statute of limitations is one obstacle faced by victims of toxic torts since injuries caused by such torts tend not to show up until many years after the fact. Given the obstacles faced, several experts have suggested alternative causes of action and remedies for toxic tort victims, including fear of disease, increased risk, and medical testing. An insurance policy covering the costs of medical treatment for the latent disease if it becomes manifest should be part of damages.

Cardioplegia: Webster's Timeline History, 1957 - 2007 Review

Cardioplegia: Webster's Timeline History, 1957 - 2007 Overview

Webster's bibliographic and event-based timelines are comprehensive in scope, covering virtually all topics, geographic locations and people. They do so from a linguistic point of view, and in the case of this book, the focus is on "Cardioplegia," including when used in literature (e.g. all authors that might have Cardioplegia in their name). As such, this book represents the largest compilation of timeline events associated with Cardioplegia when it is used in proper noun form. Webster's timelines cover bibliographic citations, patented inventions, as well as non-conventional and alternative meanings which capture ambiguities in usage. These furthermore cover all parts of speech (possessive, institutional usage, geographic usage) and contexts, including pop culture, the arts, social sciences (linguistics, history, geography, economics, sociology, political science), business, computer science, literature, law, medicine, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology and other physical sciences. This "data dump" results in a comprehensive set of entries for a bibliographic and/or event-based timeline on the proper name Cardioplegia, since editorial decisions to include or exclude events is purely a linguistic process. The resulting entries are used under license or with permission, used under "fair use" conditions, used in agreement with the original authors, or are in the public domain.

Check Out Redefining Corporate Social Responsibility (HBR Article Collection) for $17.95

Redefining Corporate Social Responsibility (HBR Article Collection) Review

Redefining Corporate Social Responsibility (HBR Article Collection) Overview

Many CSR (corporate social responsibility) efforts are little more than PR campaigns designed to promote corporate brands--by creating the appearance of being "good corporate citizens." Result? CSR investments that deepen public cynicism and fail to generate real social change. Equally important, they're not enabling companies to profit from their good works. CSR can solve social ills and give your company a competitive edge--if you approach it strategically. This Harvard Business Review Article Collection shows how. The key? Tackle social issues that you're best equipped to resolve and that, if eradicated, would give you the greatest competitive advantage. Take Toyota. To address public concern about auto emissions, the company used its technical prowess to develop the hybrid Prius. The car significantly reduces pollutants and has given Toyota an enviable lead over rivals in hybrid technology. The three Harvard Business Review articles in this collection are: "Strategy and Society: The Link Between Competitive Advantage and Corporate Social Responsibility" by Michael E. Porter and Mark R. Kramer, "The Competitive Advantage of Corporate Philanthropy" by Michael E. Porter and Mark R. Kramer, and "The Path to Corporate Responsibility" by Simon Zadek.

Not easily understood.. But then again it wasn't meant to be - H. Bursell - Plano, Texas. USA
Kobo abe was an amazing author, no doubt about it. My high school performed this play not all too long ago. Afterwards, many of the audience members were confused. This is not uncommon.. Kobo Abe wanted his audience to work and think during his plays.. It's almost as if he wanted us to analyze our own lives afterwards. All in all.. It's worth reading.. and definitely worth thinking about. :D
