From the supplier: Several mathematical models have been developed for determining settlement values in loss of earnings litigation. The models rely heavily on historical data concerning growth and discount rates and on a series of forecasts. Courts should examine the variables needed to develop an appropriate model for computing settlement values. These include current level of income, gross salary, age of injury and retirement age, lost pension earnings, wage growth rates and discount rates.
